Australian designer Barton Smith took some time to redesign the facebook UI. It’s streamlined, structured and linear interface is more comprehendible, enhancing the user experience and absorbability of content.

The home page features many new benefits: the publisher toolbar enables users to post content from any page within facebook, saving time in navigating needlessly through profiles; the streams’ two-tiered filter (content type & content contributers) also creates a more coherent structure with the core elements retaining their position throughout most of the site; and the live feed displays a constant stream of all content posted in a users network, which expands upon mouse over.

Profiles also integrate with the system more seamlessly. Just as friend lists filter the stream by a select number of people, user profiles simply filter content to a single person, creating a clearer and more comprehendible layout.

The Facebook Publisher subsite is designed to support the growing use of Facebook as a primary form of contact as email once was. The separate address, publisher.facebook.com, would be permitted in businesses where Facebook is banned, allowing users to send messages without the distractions of user generated content. The interface is a mirror of the publisher toolbar ensuring a consistent interface.

So, who is this guy? Well, Björn Åkesson was born in 1986, in a town called Lund (southern Sweden). He first noticed electronic music in the middle of the 90’s when he heard music from a videogame called Wipeout 2097. With artists such as Future Sound of London, The Prodigy and Orbital the interest grew. The “Akesson” project made a big impact on Above & Beyonds radioshow ‘Trance Around The World’ (which is very much worth downloading), in early 2008 the track ‘Perfect Blue’ was introduced to the world as ‘Tune Of The Week’ by Armin van Buuren on his huge radioshow ‘A State Of Trance’. Both Sunchaser and Perfect Blue was very well recieved by the trance community and appeared on several big compilations mixed by world class DJ’s and released by huge recordcompanies such as Sony BGM, EMI and Ministry Of Sound.

A song that involes Apple Pie in it. Just for that reason alone it should go to number one. It was just played on channel 4's T4 show and comparing the 'old' sugababes version of it to the new one with Jade instead of that other one I very much prefer this one. Annoying little twats BUT you do have to feel sorry for them with the amount of hate coming their way. I think they might actually stay in this week. somehow. 3

Was quite good but another one whose voice isn't strong enough for a career in the music industry. Won't make the finals but should get quite far. 5

Apart from Danni being quite evil 'outing' him on TV, he put in a good shift. One of those who will go to the final but I doubt we will see anything like his audition. Hard to top. Another one of the favourites. 8

Facebook problems

Everyone is on Facebook these days. Gone are the days of MySpace and Bebo. MySpace failed due to being completely shit truthfully. But then Bebo was good but then over the months added applications, changed its looks, changed profile stuff, deleted stuff, added stuff, deleted more stuff and generally was full of wee chavs.

Facebook and twitter are the trends just now. We're all interested in hearing what celebs' are up to and what our friends done a few minutes ago.

Facebook however has recently been down an awful lot. Is it time for another social media website to step up to the plate or can we rely on twitter to start adding applications, instant chat etc. and all the other crap that are on these websites?

Lets hope Facebook gets back to normal soon as I quite enjoy it!

Now that you know a little bit about the song I though it'd be a good excuse to make a t-shirt on the Hibeesbounce shop. Amazing or what! We're back with a fresh, minimal look and well posts! There is actually going to be posts! Have you missed us? Missed the music downloads? or just the general blog?

I've been busy so that is why i've not been here. My latest wee project was to tart up the Hibeesbounce.com front page and I think I have to be chuffed with the outcome. Not heard much from the users on how its going down? liked or not it's here to stay. Just need to find people to write for it. BUT I'll explain all about that in another post soon.

Well all I have to say now is welcome back and hope you enjoy yourself. Make yourself comfortable and get reading away with the fresh new zero seven blog.

Are the Scottish FA & Rangers FC gutless in stamping out Sectarianism?

Sectarianism once again reared its ugly head this weekend as Rangers fans travelled down to London to watch their team take on Paris St. Germain and Arsenal in the Emirates Cup. However once again Rangers fans have shamed Scottish Football with their antics. This time its not about hooliganism, but once again their penchant for singing sectarian and racist songs at a football match.

Throughout the matches against PSG and Arsenal you could constantly hear the bile being spouted out by Rangers fans in the Emirates, singing the likes of The Billy Boys [which has been banned], the Sash [plus the add ons], b*g j**k k**w and The Famine Song [which has been deemed a racist song]. How can any Rangers fan justify singing such songs in a stadium that has no links to Celtic FC and yet whenever someone complains about such songs being sung, they claim it is all in jest and its just banter. Well the Judge who ruled over one William Walls’ appeal stated otherwise. It is not just banter and its certainly not songs that would get your club’s players fired up to be more determined in the game - in fact I bet the majority of the players would be sickened by the chants and the songs.

However with Rangers FC being a Protestant institution and according to Walter Smith, who was quoted in Graham Speir’s book on Paul Le Guen’s tenureship at Ibrox, “There is a Protestant superiority syndrome around this club . . . you can feel it.” Do the majority of those at Rangers actually want to weed out the sectarianism that is rife amongst their fan base? While Sir David Murray has actively campaigned during his years as Rangers Chairman to weed out troublemakers and the dregs of society who shame the club with their repertoire, is he the only one genuinely campaigning for it to be weeded out? He has been in charge for over 20 years and yet there are still a horde of fans singing sectarian songs, add ons to Simply the Best and the Sash, not to mention the sick and vile songs surrounding Jock Stein and the racist, The Famine Song. If everyone at the club was hell bent on weeding out the scum - why are they still there? And it certainly isn’t a minority as some would like us to believe.

Rangers have to their credit instituted campaigns such as, Pride over Prejudice and Follow with Pride over the years to combat the dregs of their support shaming the club, but as yet it is not making any headway into riding their club of those who love to sing such songs, not because its banter to them, but because they see such songs as an extension of being a Rangers supporter, of being a good Protestant man or woman.

If Rangers cannot control their fans, if Rangers cannot weed out the so-called football fans who sing such songs and shame not only their club but all of Scottish football, then maybe its time it was taken out of their hands.

Now the SFA and the Scottish Government have over the years backed campaigns such as Kick Out Bigotry and Nil by Mouth etc, but are we actually seeing a fall in sectarianism? or has it just manifested into a whole new issue that encompasses sectarianism, racism, inappropriate behaviour and hooliganism?

Rangers fans rioted in Manchester in 2007, what was done then to punish the supporters for their behaviour? Nothing. Rather than own up to responsibility of a few hundred fans within a reported 150,000 fans, the supporters groups blamed hooligans outwith the Rangers support. Yet with the evidence slowly building up since, we know the majority of those who have been charged so far are from Scotland and not as claimed from hooligans in Manchester or England. Did the Scottish Football Association come downhard on the club? No. The only government body to actually come out and condemn the behaviour of these so-called fans was Glasgow City Council, who apologised to Manchester for the violence. What were the SFA doing at the time? The likes of Messrs Peat and Smith, were they calling up Rangers to denounce the violence or were they having a wee tipple down in Manchester following a Scottish club in the UEFA Cup Final and turning a blind eye to the violence? Still to this day the likes of the Rangers Supporters Trust, the Rangers Assembly and such hate filled sites such as Follow Follow and Vanguagrd Bears, launch the blame squarely at the actions of the Police and not of their fellow Rangers fans - but yes thats right, it was Manchester and Chelsea hooligans wasn’t it?

Rangers had been warned by both UEFA and supposedly the SFA about their fans behaviour in recent years, and yet a pitiful fine from UEFA is all that has been handed out to the quintessential British club. They were slammed for the songs sung at Inverness a few seasons ago and warned by the SFA then, and yet towards the end of last season, F*** the Pope, u*f, u*f, f****n b*stards and such were being sung or chanted within Scottish football grounds. And what did the SFA do? Nothing. The song b*g j**k k**w has been sung for roughly two seasons now, which attacks the memory of one of the greatest Scottish football manager’s in our history, what have the SFA done about it? To one of their former employees who died while on duty with the Scotland National side in Cardiff? Nothing. What have Rangers Football Club to prevent their fans from singing such a song? A man who during the Ibrox disaster helped the injured and the dying from the stands alongside other Celtic staff, as well as the Rangers staff - have the Rangers support forgotten about this Great Protestant man who helped their fellow fans at a time when many more lives could have been lost? But thats right its all just banter isn’t it?

And the Famine Song - a song that the club itself called Police in for to discuss it being made an arrestable offence. A song that has been condemned by Scottish and Irish politicians alike, a song that has been deemed racist by notable anti-racism organisations in this country, including Give Racism the Red Card. But what has been done to stop the fans from singing this? The SFA have done sweet FA, the club have done sweet FA, the Police have done sweet FA also, it would be good to see their records on how many fans have been arrested over such songs to date. And what have Rangers FC have done about the fans singing the song? again sweet FA.

Its all well and good preaching about riding sectarianism, racism and bigotry out of football in Scotland. But it is all talk, and the workshops put on by organisations may prevent a few youngsters following in the footsteps of those fans before them, but in most who conduct such songs and chants, it is inbred. It passes down from Father to Son through the generations, and a system which just breeds more hate filled, vile thugs who infest our game.

Now I cannot claim that any club is holier than thou, but the majority of clubs who have had problems in the past or still do have some elements of troublemakers in the ranks, are actively weeding them out, that includes Rangers rivals Celtic FC.

Only recently down in England, four Spurs fans were fined and banned from attending football matches after admitting to racist and homophobic chanting aimed at Sol Campbell. 11 fans in total were charged with racist and homophobic chanting. But what has happened in Scotland? Very little to say the least. Is it okay for fans to sing songs that are Racist towards the Irish and yet its not okay if it was aimed at a black player? The claims that the Irish are not a race is just a feable attempt by a mindless horde who travel to games revelling in singing such songs, even more than seeing their club play and win. These sort of fans give football fans in Scotland a bad name and drag all of us down to the gutter alongside them.

This season will once again be overshadowed by such incidents of sectarianism, racism and bigotry - but what will be done about it? Will the SFA and the Scottish Government clamp down on the fans, the clubs? Will the clubs themselves finally weed all the scum out? Doubtful.

Such comments that are rife in certain Rangers forums, just prove to everyone that sectarianism is not a small problem, that its not a minority who are undertaking such behaviour, that it is instilled in the mindset of a lot of fans.

“Good to hear, along with TFO, and I hope they are sung when the domestic season starts. Time for the fans to stand up (or sing up) and be counted on this issue. Millions of us have sung TBB over the years whilst TFO is not sectarian in anyway. Watching Rangers is not the same without hearing TBB.”

“You sing TBB and the papes squeal. No surprise there, nor that their many friends will be penning indignant outrage in almost every gutter paper in the country. I say let the bastarts squeal and let their friends write their shyte - but keep on singing our songs. It’s what we should have done when it all kicked off, instead of being panicked by Murray and every jelly-spined do-gooder in the Rangers support. Seriously, fukk them all.”

“To this day I still find it hard to believe that our entire support stopped singing TBB without any sort of a challenge. I don’t know one bear who had a problem singing it before it was banned. Any great atmosphere anywhere Rangers played would involve tens of thousands singing TBB without any hint of shame, regret or embarassment. For decades it was our anthem on the terraces and in the stands. We all sang it and to stop it overnight made the support out to be hypocrites because it only stopped after someone decided it should be banned. I hope to hear it all season long.”

“Fantastic to hear it today, i hope we sing it even louder tomorrow and f–k the handwringers.”

“Basically the Billy Boys was banned because a shower of Bheasts and a maggot called Spiers claimed “f****n” means Roman Catholic. Lest we forget they worked so hard on this they even contacted the Oxford English Dictionary to have the definition changed.”

“One of my highlights of the day yesterday was belting out the Billy Boys. Haven’t seen the papers today but I’d be very surprised if the mhedia haven’t got a few things to say about it.”

With lot's of valued users signing out of the Hibeesbounce due to the huge rise in pointless posts, immature users and everything else. One quote from a thread on the bounce mentioned...

So I think it's fair to say that it could be the best time ever to bring back the very much loved Mass Hibsteria. Sadly the fanzine doesn't look like a comeback is on the cards but with the right help and time the website could be up and running in style with fresh look, lots of new articles and a place for those valued bouncers to find a new home where some intellectual chat can once again appear on a Hibs website. I guess as a Hibeesbounce admin I shouldn't be saying this but it's true. Bring back Mass Hibsteria.

That image above is my take on a new logo for the site. The original one being the one in at the top of this post. Nothing will beat originals and everyone know's that. But in this day and age everything needs to look fresh to attract people. We will wait and see what happens with Mass Hibsteria in the future. Give the team over there time to think about stuff...

Pendulum create enormous Glastonbury rave

Pendulum got the Other Stage at Glastonbury 2009 dancing on saturday night, playing a pumped-up set featuring some new tracks.

The band played an hour-long set that attracted a hyped-up crowd eager to dance as the sun set on Worthy Farm.

"Glastonbury festival, you are now about to witness pure, undiluted carnage," frontman Rob Swine said before playing 'Blood Sugar'.

"Have we got any fans of metal music here today?" he asked, before leading his band into 'Hold Your Colour'. "Have we got any fans of drum 'n' bass music here today? Then check this."

"What a killer crowd out there," he later said before playing 'Tarantula'. "You people are amazing! This is the best festival in the world!"

After the track the band previewed an untitled new song - created one day ago especially for the festival, Swine explained from the stage.

Featuring a slower tempo than the majority of their previous material, the start of the song recalled 1990s Seattle grunge music before mutating into a drum 'n' bass showpiece.

A talent that stretches around the world, a talent that has influenced artists of all genres aswell as millions of people who've heard their masterpieces. Personally one of my favourite artists of all time and one that has influenced me massively.

So, what of it. Chicane remixing hoppipolla? Before I heard it I would scream sacrilige. Nobody should, nobody deserves to touch their songs. Especially a trance-house dj. But that was before I listened to it. I could've easily drawn two lines. One through the north-south divide in the uk. And one straight down the middle of Europe. Everyone east of france, everyone north of london, won't have a problem with this song. Everyone else, everyone who loves sigur ros, will.

But again, that was before I heard it. And now I don't know what to think. Because I really like this song. I can't help it. Its hard to match the uplifting power of the original, but it comes close. The original is such a great song that you have to do an awful lot to ruin it completely. And given the opportunity, standing in the midst of the crowd with your hands in the air, why shouldn't I like it? It doesn't have to be as good as the original, it just has to work, which this does.

Make up your own minds, i really don't have any problems with people who hate it or love it. I can see both points. Download and enjoy!

Official Hibs splash page (again)

Let's be honest. The Hibs official site is very poor and I guess the team that do it would admit it themselves too. We were rumoured to have a new look website aswell but by the looks of things no other mention of it has came up so maybe it's scrapped. In my oppinion the site looks amatuer at best!

There has been a slight change though in the splash pages (the pages that are viewed before getting into the original home page). They are looking a bit better. Especially the one that was showing off the new Hibs kits. Maybe this blog has something to do with the improvement. :)

Well there is no news and sadly struggling these days to find anything catchy enough to give away as a music download too. So this post consists of a small splash page change. You can see on the left the contrast between the two pages. A change from black to white, some drop shadow background around the picture, the Hibs crest on the top with is very important and finally the lest justified to the left. Nothing special really. Just boredom made me want to play around with it. You can see the full size edit by clicking here. Hopefully I shall find some decent stuff to post. And maybe redesign the blog. We will hopefully be moving to a wordpress site soon which will make things a bit easier for you reading. We can have lots of different pages etc. Hopefully though. We are staying here just now sadly.

Recently I've been playing around with photoshop CS4 Extended (the most recent photoshop I think) and I've been trying to get to grips with it. I've been using some tutorials to learn a bit more but I started my first wee project thing today. A simple wee wallpaper for the few hibby's that browse the blog. It's just a simple wallpaper that I made without any tutorials just using some features of photoshop. It looks quite real wierdly. Well quite decent anyway. Hughes confirmed as new Hibernian manager

Hibs have this afternoon confirmed Falkirk manager John Hughes as the new boss at Easter Road. It brings to an end a two week search for a replacement for former manager Mixu Paatelainen. It is likely Hughes will bring his No.2 Brian Rice, another former Hibs player, with him to Edinburgh.

Former Hibs captain and Leith boy Hughes has signed a 3-year-deal at Easter Road and is delighted to be boss of his boyhood heroes.

Speaking to the OFFICIAL SITE he said:

"This is a very proud day for me. I am delighted to be the Manager of Hibernian."

"Everyone knows what Hibernian means to me. I have so much respect for the Club and its supporters that I would not have accepted the job if I did not think that I could make a real difference and be successful. It is important to me that the Board have identified that it is my managerial ability, and not my history as a Hibernian player, as the reason I have been appointed."

"I also have great affection for Falkirk FC and would like to thank everyone connected with that club for the fantastic opportunity they gave me to cut my teeth as a manager."

"My future now lies with Hibernian and I believe I will bring innovation and an attractive style of passing football to the Club. I can't wait to start working with the players and get down to business at the training centre."

Hibernian FC launch their new kit for Season 09/10 for pre-ordering today (28 May) and in-store on the 11 June 2009.

Hibernian has once again combined the traditional with the innovative for the new playing kit for season 2009/10. Taking a stance against the usual home and away kit launch schedule, this summer the Club will introduce all of next season’s outfield playing kit at the same time.

In conjunction with long-term technical sponsor, Le Coq Sportif, Hibernian has developed a unique inter-changeable playing strip system that can be mixed and matched in several classic Hibernian green and white combinations.

The Club has listened to supporters with a return to the classic Hibernian colours and strip layout – the vintage Hibernian Green-white-green strip is back. Simple, clean-cut straight lines allow the Club colours to stand out, including detail and panels of dark green, linking the kit back to the original Hibernian shirt. The central placement of the Club crest pays homage to the history of Hibernian and provides a balanced finish to the shirt.

Streamed music could return to YouTube as PRS cuts royalty rate

Streamed music could be making a return to YouTube after news that the Performing Rights Society is cutting its royalty rate for digital music sites.

Last year YouTube owner Google disputed how much money it paid the PRS, the society that collects royalties for composers and musicians, which resulted in the blocking of premium music videos supplied by record labels.

However now that the PRS has decided to charge digital sites 0.0085p per track instead of the former rate of 0.22p, a return of streamed music to the video-sharing sites is expected.

A YouTube spokesperson said: “We welcome any efforts to make licensing costs more realistic, but as we're still in discussions with the PRS to agree license terms for YouTube we're unable to comment further.”

The new PRS rate will apply for the next three years and seems to have been met with widespread approval from the digital music industry.

Martin Stiksel, founder of music streaming site Last.fm, is among the supporters and issued the following statement: “Last.fm welcomes the substantial reduction in the per stream minima. This shows that the MCPS/PRS alliance has listened to feedback from the industry and is taking leadership in driving commercially workable rates. The increase in the revenue share on the other hand seems excessive at 10%, especially in the light of the fact that traditional radio is paying in the range of 5%. All in all: a move in the right direction, but a mixed blessing nevertheless.”

PRS managing director of broadcast and online Andrew Shaw said: "We believe these new streaming rates will stimulate growth in the digital music market and will benefit our licensees and our members."

Special D (born Dennis Horstmann, 16 September 1980, Hamburg, Germany) is a German DJ and dance music artist who is particularly popular in the Netherlands, where he won the 'Best Dance International' award at the 2004 TMF NL awards. He is also popular among the Euro-Trance scene in North America.

Looks like its Le Coq Sportif for another season sadly.

Hibernian FC is delighted to announce that Le Coq Sportif is to extend the agreement to be Kit Sponsor of the Club for another year, to the end of season 2009/10. The deal will see Le Coq Sportif produce and supply all Hibernian FC home and away kit, as well as a full range of training gear for next season.
The securing of the deal comes after a competitive tender process featuring several sportswear manufacturers, and the agreement will extend Hibernian’s relationship with Le Coq Sportif to 10 years.

Fife Hyland, Commercial Director, Hibernian FC, said of the deal today: “This is a fantastic agreement for the Club on lots of levels. After a lengthy and very thorough tender process and examination of the market, Le Coq Sportif once again provided the best solution for the Club. The commercial benefits and return are of paramount consideration, especially in the current climate, but the players also require the highest possible standard in terms of technical performance of the kit – on both these factors, Le Coq Sportif were by far the best candidate.

“Coupled with that is the excellent working relationship built over a number of years, and the control and management the Club retains over the design and specification of the kit. This Skream remix of the new La Roux song could be the most amazing track ive ever heard. It captures you and makes you stop and listen. Starting out with eerie pads, a devistating sub-bass and elly jackson's wonderful wonderful vocals on top, this 'lets get ravey' rework has everything it takes to make the crowd go wild before the beat even drops in.

Skream perfectly keeps up the suspense throughout the entire track until the end where he can't help himself but finally put an amen break aside the whole thing. Unfortunately the song fades out leaving you wanting more. Something more intense and hardcore. You get the point though. Less is more. Teasing is the new ecstasy. Reduction is the new maximum. Low is the new high.

Wowza! A brand spanking new Hibernian FC site again. Sadly I'm not finished this one yet. I've decided to take my time one this one. It's more graphic than the previous few i've done. I've not even finished the front page of it yet so ho hum. It's on it's way. Think of this as a little image to get you excited about the full thing. (or not) Hope your liking the new blog though. One day (not even a day - a few hours more like) and their is plenty of stuff for you too 'borrow' and pass on. Well they must have been looking at the criticism for being quite shabby they have upped their game - in my opinion - with this quite funky splash page before entering the main site.

I'm proud of you guys but don't give up just yet. Their is the whole thing after this page to fix as it is embarrasing for a club like Hibernian. Their are even some lower league clubs with better websites than us but ho hum rumour has it we're getting a new one soon. GGTTH.

My first non hibs design goes to Black Diamond FM! Black Diamond FM is a Community Radio Station in Edinburgh, bringing you music, news on the hour and local information live from 7am. You can visit their website at http://www.blackdiamondfm.com/. Their logo currently is the one you can see to the right. I thought that the logo does need updated so ive freshened things up. The diamond shape is still there but its a new font and doesn't use the big black box in the original logo.

Well i'm not entirely happy with this. I reckon I could have done it in a much better way but my mind is blank at the moment. A big header for the title of the news and also the date it was publised 'cause I noticed on the official site just now that the date of the articles is on the front page and not the article page itself. To the right of the article header is a small place for an advert which in my picture is the season ticket on. Larger photo's are added now so you can see what is going on with some text below the image and the text is given a slight green colour to it to make it more hibbyish. At the bottom there is a box for them to put whatever they like and seen as they are promoting their desktop wallpapers at the minute I thought I would use the space for them.
I might sort this page out but now onto the other pages of the Official Website.

Right where do I start with this. The official site has 'officially' been gantin' for the last few years. The design is crap and the content on it is crap and that includes the guff on Hibernian Interactive. So a fresh new update of the front page was in order. A moving flash image bit (instead of a 'splash page') to advertise upcoming things like matches, ticket sales, news and online shop sales and information about the Hibees. There is also now an option that you can log on with your username and password too making things feel a bit more personal. Quite little snippets of the news comes below the flash bit (the sale advert) with bigger images used that there is just now so you can actually see. More text is added too and less adverts although space could be created for adverts easily. At the bottom is the dark green bar that has the sponsorship ad's on them and the copyright guff that im sure the Official Site would like on their site. With a nice little zero-seven designs logo too obviously! Hibs Interactive has also been re-named to Hibs Media just cause I wanted to rename it. Hopefully you like it! Clicking the images will make them larger.

Hibernian Kit Design idea

Latest rumour to come out of the greggs down Easter Road is that Hibs have a new kit manufacturer and it is Adidas. Hopefully we are getting some decent gear rather than the crap Le Coq Sportif make. Hopefully more options in the Hibs Clubstore too. I've kinda' put together what I hope the new kits will look like. No doubt there will be some dodgy design and the 3 stripes down the arms but I hope Hibs go for something different than all the other teams that are using Adidas for their Kit Manufacturers. Im quite please with the way the blog looks now. Quite funky!

New Laptop

Nice new rebrand for me then as you can see. New laptop with greater power means more images and more power. Possibly even better designs. I hope you like our new logo! Anyway back onto the new logo/rebranding. Im guessing it is pritty obvious where the name came from.
